Afternoons include workshops on food preparationsoptional therapy sessions, walks, outings or other creative activities. Evenings can include mantra singing, discussions, inspirational films and documentaries.

Each day the yoga and meditation is dedicated to one of the seven chakras, starting with the base. We also offer possibilities for excursions to the beach, mountains, herb-walks and Buddhist monastery.

The Yoga

You will be gently taken into a deepening practice of yoga postures, meditation and pranayama. It does not matter if you are a beginner or advanced student, there is enough personal attention as we keep our groups small.

Everyone can get deeper into awareness of their body, breathing and being. Even if you have never done any yoga before, this is a great opportunity to get into a non-demanding practice at your own pace.

The morning classes will be more dynamic Yang style yoga while we end the day with a more calming Yin-Yoga practice. Tara will be guiding most of the yoga sessions and sometimes there will be guest teachers.

Each day will be dedicated to one of the chakras so we can go deep into the transformational quality of each of them. We will develop the skills to work with the 7 energy gateways for greater healing, vitality and pleasure.

The Cuisine

Breakfast can be anything from almond milk with granola, banana pancakes to crackers with avocado and cashew cheese with a smoothie prepared with Superfoods.

Dinner times are always a joy for the senses, there’s always something fascinating to taste – and If you can't eat or like certain things – no worries – we are happy to accommodate any of your food preferences. All food is gluten, sugar, and lactose-free at our retreats – only delicious homemade raw food, using the freshest and organically grown ingredients.

Exotic fruits, like mangoes, papayas, figs, etc. can be taken throughout the day.

We’ll create lots of delicious meals together including soup, sushi, lasagna, and desserts and we’ll then get to eat what we’ve created (yes, detailed recipes will be provided for you to take home).

Your taste buds will be delighted by Tikka Masala with Onion Badjis, Mushroom Stroganoff, Thai creamy curry with tempeh vegetables, and mouthwatering leek quiches just to name a few dishes you will try on the retreat. 

The Venue

We will be staying 10 days together in a lovely retreat centre, set in lush exotic gardens with a big beautiful swimming pool. 

All around you is beauty, complete with ancient olive, orange, and fig trees laden with fruits ready to pick. Here you can relax and recharge your whole being while you slip back into the natural rhythms of nature. 

Situated in the gardens there are some cottages with each their own terrace, looking out on ancient olive trees. The main house, with the kitchen and the dining room, has several single and double rooms to choose from.

Granada is nearby with its Arabic influences, invoking images of gypsies and medieval maze-like streets with the snow top mountain peaks from the Sierra Nevada in the background.

Hi I'm Tara, and I am passionate about yoga and inspiring people to take care of their well-being—mind, body, and spirit.

Yoga has been my guiding light ever since I was a little girl, living with my mother in a spiritual community in India.

My approach to wellness and healing on top of a regular yoga & meditation practice is adding more organic high vibrational raw and superfoods to our diet. That also means letting go of unhealthy lifestyle practices that don't serve us (or our spirit) anymore, and releasing stress. I embrace my vibrant life and wish the same for everyone.

After 15 years of teaching yoga on other retreats, I gave birth to SunfoodYoga in 2006. Here you can enjoy the powerful blend of raw cuisine combined with the finest yoga & meditation experiences in a beautiful natural surrounding.

After you get home, you’ll be invited to a private Facebook group where you can keep in touch with your new made friends, swap stories, and keep everyone in the loop with your triumphs & challenges.

You’ll also have an additional 20-minute session with Tara in the months following, so we can make sure you’re still on track with everything you have learned.

7,30 am Wake up call. 8 am lemon water and detox tea 8,30- 10,00 am meditation and yoga class 10,15 am breakfast 11,00 am free time or workshops or time for a massage 13,30 pm lunch 14,00 pm free time or workshop or time for a massage 17,30 - 18,30 pm yoga and meditation 19,00 pm dinner. Some days we have an evening program and there are also some excursions possible when we have enough transport for everyone. Arrival day. Programm starts at 17 pm with a juice and a sharing circle. At 19 pm we have dinner.

First chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on grounding ourselves.. We work with the earth element through re-connecting with nature and making a beautiful walk, power walk and walking meditation in the surrounding area. Each day there is a possibility to learn about raw food preparations and detox through different kind of workshops or just helping out in the kitchen. Also when we have enough transport for everyone we can do excursions to the beach or the mountains.

Second Chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on coming in to our flow. We work with the water element. We can have a walk to the river or go to the spa in Lanjaron and have a swim in the swimming pool. We focus on hydrating and cleansing the body through drinking a lot of healing pure spring water and green juices. Each day there is a possibility to learn about raw food preparations and detox through different kind of workshops or just helping out in the kitchen. Also when we have enough transport for everyone we can do excursions to the beach or the mountains.

Third Chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on igniting our inner fire and coming our power, We work with the fire element. We have a fire ceremony to let go of that which no longer serves us. Each day there is a possibility to learn about raw food preparations and detox through different kind of workshops or just helping out in the kitchen. Also when we have enough transport for everyone we can do excursions to the beach or the mountains.

Fourth chakra day. Heart chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on coming into the heart space. We work with the air element. We will do more pranayama, breathing exercises and have a heart sharing circle. Each day there is a possibility to learn about raw food preparations and detox through different kind of workshops or just helping out in the kitchen. Also when we have enough transport for everyone we can do excursions to the beach or the mountains.

Fifth Chakra day. The meditation and yoga are focused on more pranayama and using our voice through mantra. We work with the element ether and when we have enough transport for everyone we can go to the waterfalls high up in the Sierra Nevada mountain range and visit some authentic white washed villages. Each day there is a possibility to learn about raw food preparations and detox through different kind of workshops or just helping out in the kitchen. Also when we have enough transport for everyone we can do excursions to the beach or the mountains.

Sixth Chakra day. The third eye. The meditation and yoga are focused on connecting and tuning in to our inner wisdom, intuition and inner guidance. The element here is light. Each day there is a possibility to learn about raw food preparations and detox through different kind of workshops or just helping out in the kitchen. Also when we have enough transport fro everyone we can do excursions to the beach or the mountains.

Seventh Chakra, the crown. We focus this day more on meditation and silence. Moving beyond the body, mind and emotions. Each day there is a possibility to learn about raw food preparations and detox through different kind of workshops or just helping out in the kitchen. Also when we have enough transport for everyone we can do excursions to the beach or the mountains.

This day the meditation and yoga is focused on bringing all what we have learned together in to a nice flow. A journey through all the chakra's. Evening Celebration. Each day there is a possibility to learn about raw food preparations and detox through different kind of workshops or just helping out in the kitchen. Also when we have enough transport for everyone we can do excursions to the beach or the mountains.

We have a short meditation and yoga session from 8,15 - 9 am and then breakfast at 9,15, after that people depart.
