About Tara

Hi I am Tara and I am passionate about helping people through yoga, meditation, healthy eating and connecting with nature.

I like to create a warm and safe place for you to explore yourself in all aspects of your being: body, mind and soul. It inspired me to give birth to sunfoodyoga in 2006. Through retreats, workshops and classes I share all that I learned over the past 50 years with like minded people like you.

The vision I have with SunfoodYoga is to create a space of healing for you. Through yoga, meditation and offering nourishing raw- & superfood retreats in beautiful natural locations you will come home to yourself.

I lived in a spiritual community called 'Auroville' in India when I was 8 years old. There I was introduced to yoga & meditation as a way of life. Later my journey led me to travel and study with many great yogis like 'Clive Sheridan' and enlightened masters like 'Poonjaji' and 'Amritananda Mayi'.

I have spent half my life in the east, always furthering my yoga studies as well as natural healing techniques. Besides being a yoga teacher I am also mother of 2 beautiful sons, a massage therapist, raw food chef and healer.

I like to share the knowledge of this ancient practice and intermix it with mantra and pranayama. I use alignment principles and fun to bring in my own unique teaching style. I specialize in Hatha Yoga, Flow Yoga, Yin Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama and teach for over 25 years.

You will not only progress in your yoga practice, taking skills and knowledge home with you, but you will bring a higher awareness of yourself with you that will resonate within all areas of your life.

I hope you will join me on one of our retreats to connect and strengthen from the inside out. I believe that by healing ourselves we ultimately help to create a peace-filled world.

With love & Gratitude for being on this journey with me!

"I am one of the raw food chefs on the SunfoodYoga retreats in Spain. My aim is to make your retreat an inspirational taste sensation.

Along side preparing the three main meals of the day, I will be hosting various workshops (crackers, chocolates and gourmet cakes). Demonstrating how to make raw food easy, tasty and impressive!

Like many, bad health pushed me to look within and to see my life as a whole. I realized that with the combination of good food, yoga, meditation, creativity and nature, the real you can shine through and you can enjoy living life to the full. I will be on hand for any questions you may have, or to lend a sympathetic ear to anyone that might need it.

Since working with Tara, I have met so many beautiful and interesting people and I look forward to meeting you all on the next retreat."

Through meditation, studying, endless self inquiry and energy work I found liberation. During this spiritual journey I've got deeply inspired by and involved with energy healing, The Work of Byron Katie and expressive art therapy. I love the adventure of expressing myself in strange materials as stone and paint and feel an undeniable urge to share love with others - humans ánd animals."

Dear Tara My time at your retreat exceeded all I was hoping for! The place is incredible, like a paradise. The perfect spot to wind down and find inner peace. beautiful nature, a big refreshing pool and simple , but very comfortable accommodation. You are a unique person, easy to talk to and a great teacher in many ways. Yoga with you has been very rewarding. I came here to clear my mind and practice yoga, I found all this and more. Thanks for introducing me to the wonderful world of raw food and all its varieties. I am immensely surprised how I actually liked and more enjoyed it. I learned a lot in those four days, and I am excited to take it back home. Many thanks for making this possible for me and I wish you all the best for your future and many more of those great retreats.

Dear Tara, Thank you so much for a wonderful, relaxing retreat. I enjoyed the food, the yoga and the people. Raw food has not been a major focus until now, but Sam, Pam and Amanda are the magicians in the kitchen. I enjoyed every bit of food that was on our plates - nourishing me so greatly. I am very keen on continuing a big part of it and I'm really inspired by the variety of the raw food. The yoga practice was kind, gentle and very self-focusing. I was just at the right place, at the right time. And I am more than grateful for this experience. I learned a lot about myself, and I am happy to continue my journey towards a self-aware and self-conscious life. When it comes to the people, it is super how we all connect together in just one retreat. I found it the most wonderful collection of people I can imagine. We shared and laughed so much. Even younger and older women connecting so greatly is not easy, but we made it a truly memorable experience and we will keep this in our hearts forever. Thank you so much for providing this time and space. Your effort is truly remarkable. Love and peace,
